Do you have a musician in your life and you have no idea what to get them, well – welcome to my world.
This is something I have struggled with for years – What do you buy for a musician that has everything already? In the past I would Google gift ideas for my husband, but would hit dead end after dead end. All I could ever find was socks or ties with pianos on them, or guitar shaped spatulas. Those may be cool, but they are items that he would literally never use. Then when it came to anything significant the prices were insane and I literally had no idea what brand or “thing” to get.
My husband wanted to I wonder if he is secretly asking for some of this for Christmas. Nonetheless, I thought it as a great idea.
Full disclosure here, I didn’t pick out a single thing here, it was 100% curated by my husband. Trust me, you would prefer it that way. All of these gift ideas are great for any musician, regardless of what instrument they may play.
Drop a note in the comments section, if you have a question about any one of these items and I will bug him to give me an answer 😉
Here is the list of amazing gift ideas!
Teenage Engineering PO-33 Pocket Operator KO Sampler/Sequencer – Small handheld sampler that allows the user to turn the sounds of the world around them into music.
Monotron Delay Analog Ribbon Synthesizer – This is a handheld synthesizer. You can make really fun and interesting sounds on the go. This is also battery powered so you can literally take it anywhere
HARMONICA 32B – Also referred to as a Melodica – Who doesn’t need a blowy piano? This thing is crazy cool. My husband actually has 2 of these. It is an air operated keyboard
HiFi T3 Premium Single Knowles BA Single PU+PEK Dynamic Hybrid Driver In Ear Earphones – These are super reasonably priced, but decent quality in ear monitor
17 Keys Thumb Piano – I think the description of this says it enough, but this is a fun pocket sized piano you can take anywhere
Otamatone “Deluxe” [English Edition] Electronic Musical Instrument Synthesizer – It’s a weird little noise maker that is fun to have around. Even our 3 year old loves this too.
High Fidelity Earplugs for Concerts, Musicians, Motorcycles & Noise Sensitivity Conditions – Any musician that plays in a live environment should have a pair of these. You can reduce the volume of the sounds around you without suffering from reduction in clarity
Moleskine Classic Notebook – We love moleskin! All musicians are in need of quality notebook for note taking. Great way to get those ideas out on paper
Contact Microphone Pickup – Useful for amplifying acoustic instruments or turning random objects into amplified instruments.
Electro-Faustus EF105 Drum Thing – This is a metal box that you can run through any amp to make interesting sounds. You can tap, scrape or bang on it.
I hope you find these ideas helpful. All the credit goes to my husband though 🙂
